The Ministry of Culture has assigned the Fine Arts Department to provide advice on improving the documents submitted for World Heritage registration of the Wat Phra Mahathat site in order to adjust and select outstanding international value. The draft document was sent to the World Heritage Center for review of the correctness of the format and completeness of the document in September 2024. The Wat Phra Mahathat site meets two World Heritage criteria: Criteria 2 and 6.
